  • Hearing a doctor admit the mistake would mean a lot Such a high percentage is actually very surprising. I thought America was one of the most litigious societies, where decisions are made, not because they're right or wrong, but because there's always fear of a lawsuit.

  • I thoroughly agree. There is a risk associated with any surgery. If I were in Ms. Reed's position, I don't think I would have sued either, as long as the additional expense of the hospital stay wasn't incurred by me.

  • While the Pentagon offers quit-smoking programs, “tobacco control does not have a high priority” I couldn't agree more. Just because it's the issue d'jour doesn't mean it needs to be a priority at all.
